Football in Rome
While it is arguable that Italy's
northern teams are more famous, Rome is home to two world class football
teams - AS Roma and SS Lazio.
Both teams play at the Olympic stadium, to the north of
the city centre, with the majority of matches being played on Sunday
afternoon, although the more important matches may be played on Saturday
or Sunday evenings.
If you're planning on seeing the football, remember that
the final day may not be decided until shortly before, so always ensure
that you are staying on Saturday AND Sunday nights if you buy tickets
in advance.
Buying tickets
Except for the really big matches, you'll be able to buy
tickets when you get to Rome. You can purchase them at the stadium box
office, the Lazio shop in Via Farini and bars displaying the Lottomatica
logo.
You can usually buy tickets for Lazio online
and pick them up from the stadium - make sure you take your credit card
and passport with you though.
Ticket and hotel packages
Another option is to book a hotel and ticket package.
